One Hour Radio Show
By Deisy Ruiz
The hour radio show I will perform for an hour has an (UC) Urban Contemporary format considered the “melting pot” format, which attracts a large numbers of Hispanic and Black listeners as well as white. I used this format, because I know this area fall in this kind of population being me one of those too. I programmed my hour show by four quarters; for example, I will open my show using the call letters (WKNJ 90.3 FM) that is an element required by FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in all radio stations. Also, at the same time I will announce my show’s name, the time when the show will be performed, and there I will announce an ID too. Then, I will do my intro show giving the listeners an advance what the show will be about. After that, I will send another ID about the Kean University radio station. Next, I will put a very playing song for the moment “Yo no se manana” by Luis Enriquez. Afterward, my show will start with an informative about a fitness program that is causing a big revolution around the world it is Zumba. I will talk about how Zumba started, who created it, what exercise your body is so important, how the obesity is affecting our community a lot without exceptions of age, sex, social levels. Then, I will send a Bon Jovi PSA. Then, I will put another song that has been on the top of the billboard list it is “Give me everything tonight” By Pitbull. Then, I will send another ID. After that I will come back giving to the listeners more information about Zumba. After this, I will send an USHER PSA. Then, I will put a song by Romeo and USHER it is called “Promise”.
