The hour radio show I performed last February 25, 2012, was in honor to the great singer, actress, and model Whitney Houston. My hour has an (UC) Urban Contemporary format considered the “melting pot” format, which attracts a large numbers of Hispanic and Black listeners as well as white. I used this format, because I know this area fall in this kind of population being me one of those too. I programmed my hour show by four quarters; I started my intro show in which I Introduce myself in the show, and the name of my show. Then, I gave an advance about what the show will be. Then, I sent a legal bumper ID, after that there was a song “How Will I Know” Then, I started my show with the first part of the information about Whitney Houston’s life. There I talked about her awards, and her greatest songs. Afterward, I sent a President Barak Obama PSA, then a song. Later, there was my second quarter with the same sequence. I continued with my second part of the information about how Whitney began her career as a singer, model and actress. Later, I sent a legal bumper ID, and then I sent another song “Greatest Love of All”. After that, it came another PSA (Bon Jovi), then another song “Saving All My Love For You”. Afterward, there was another bumper ID. Then, there was the third part of the show; It was about her personal life, where I talked about her marriage with his ex-husband Bobby Brown and her battles with drug additions. Later, there was another PSA (USHER ). Then, I sent another song “I’m Every Woman”. Then, there was the last and fourth part of Whitney Houston about her last days and commentaries about her funeral. Later, I sent the last PSA, Bumper ID, and song I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Love Me)”. Afterward, at the end of the show I made a summary of Whitney Houston life and death. Then, I sent a special message for her. Later, I sent another song “I Have Nothing”. Finally, I annonced the weather for the day and I closed my show giving thanks to all listeners and I finalized the show with my favorite song and Whitney Houston’s “signature” “I Will Always Love You”.
